Mutual Gratitude

I want to tell you that the session was amazing! I found myself remembering the birth of my first son, who died shortly afterward, and shining the light of forgiveness energy on everyone in the room. I had a good, cleansing cry. Since then, I’ve felt better, as if something that had been tight had loosened considerably. — Mother

Allow Your Child to Make Mistakes Gracefully #10

In this series we are highlighting compelling reasons to allow our children to make mistakes gracefully.

Compelling Reason #10

Contrast.

The living environment we all inhabit is one duality: light and dark, up and down, right and left, as well as good and bad.

When children make mistakes, they have an opportunity to clearly distinguish what they do and do not want in the way of experiences and of life in general. Children benefit from experiencing all kinds of situations wanted, and unwanted, to exercise their ability to create the life they desire.

The value of experiencing situations that we do not want is that they help us to know more clearly what we do want. The trick is not to react to the unwanted situation but merely notice the unwanted conditions and place our attention on what we do want instead. When we understand the value of contrast and learn to welcome it for the clarity it brings, it is easy to allow our children to do the same.

How is it possible to appreciate the opposite of what you want for your child and yourself for the value that contrast provides?

Posts at Innate Wholeness are shared with the intention of creating a shift in awareness. Please take what speaks to you and leave the rest. Thanks!
