What to Expect

Meditation and energy healing facilitate deep inner awareness. Many experience this as the connection between themselves and the Creator. This allows you to affirm the basis of your being and release unconscious memories, thoughts, and patterns that lead to stress and illness.
During a session energy will shift through your system to cleanse, transform negativity, and strengthen any weak areas. It is important to remember that negative “stuff” may come up on its way through and much is transforming in the moment. Awareness around an issue is healing in itself and allows you to make changes in life to heal yourself.
Participants may experience various sensations during sessions such as warmth, coolness, relaxation, tension, release through crying or laughter, waves around and through their physical body and space, and tingling. You may experience memories, visions of shapes, colors, or other images. Simply focus on your breath and pay attention to what is happening in your body while you observe any thoughts or judgments as if you are watching a movie. The movie is you and your experience.
People have various responses to the sessions. Here are three different reports…
Mom who experienced the death of a baby - “I want to tell you that the session was amazing! I found myself remembering the birth of my first son, who died shortly afterward, and shining the light of forgiveness energy on everyone in the room. I had a good, cleansing cry. Since then, I’ve felt better, as if something that had been tight had loosened considerably.”
Sherri - “Thank you so much for the wonderful healing session! I feel so much more lighter and open to let all the good things that are around me flow in and am so much more upright, too. What a wonderful release of negativity.”
Mom who was born prematurely – “I wanted to write to you about last night’s session. I grounded myself and asked to receive the healing from you and thanked God for it. I felt this peace descend on me, like someone was watching over me. About 10-15 minutes later I was in this dark place. I was coming out of my mother but didn’t want to, but had to because I couldn’t stop it. I was born at 24 weeks. I thought I was going to die and felt so angry as it was too bright and too quick and I didn’t want to be there in the world yet but had to.
They shoved me somewhere and I lived. But the sadness, the loneliness, the anger…it was OVERWHELMING… I wanted to be held but no one came and I felt no one cared and no one wanted to. I thought I would drown in emotions but asked God to get me through it, because I knew I had to experience it because it has held me back somehow in life. I always knew there were emotions surrounding my birth because I couldn’t talk about my beginning without feeling like I was going to get all emotional. And I would avoid it if I could.
Anyway, after a few hours of that… I woke in total peace…
I had no idea of the affect that those events had on my life. I really didn’t understand how it had shaped me, but can see now.”
Preparing for a Session
- Read and begin incorporating the simplicity of present moment awareness through meditation.
- Choose a time when you can relax for at least 30-60 minutes. Some people do this upon waking or going to bed at night. If you only have 5 minutes, simply intend for the session to continue as you move about or at a later time.
- Drink plenty of water before and after the session. Water assists the flow and release of energy. Energy work clears and shifts toxins in the body so they can move out easily. If we are not properly hydrated toxins can build up and result in illness.
- Lay or sit down in an area free of distractions and begin to consciously relax through feeling your breath enter and exit the body while simply noticing thoughts and sensations.
- Intend to participate through stating “I am now ready to participate in meditation/healing with Amy Phoenix.” Your conscious connection through saying the statement will initiate the session. The words do not have to be exact.
- If you have a specific issue you would like addressed simply state your intention “Thank you for awareness/healing around _____” and know that many issues resolve through a process of emotional release. It is helpful to phrase your intention in terms of what you want instead of the issue you presently have (i.e. if the issue is lack of confidence you may intend to know thoroughly your own confidence and worth, if the issue is a physical ailment you may intend to be whole and healthy).
- Focus on your breath and pay attention to what is happening within.
- If you are initiating the session for someone else, ask permission first. Share all of the information about energy healing and guidelines for preparation, what to expect, and how to care for one’s self after a session. If the person is your child or cannot give permission you may initiate the session with a statement like “I now intend that _____ (name of person) receive the session sent by Amy in line with his/her Highest Good.”
After the Session
Healing and release will continue after a session and in between sessions.
Here are some tips for supporting yourself:
- Consider allowing meditation to become a way of life.
- Reflect upon and implement helpful insights from the session to enhance your life.
- Continue to drink plenty of water, rest, and eat healthy foods in as close to their natural state as possible.
- Notice what comes up for you emotionally and allow yourself the space to feel your emotions without judging them. Emotions are not bad. They simply are. We get the message that they are bad if they feel bad, and they are really indicators about how we are thinking about something. Even that can cause people to feel bad. Just let your emotions be and watch how your thoughts and feelings work together or not, for your greater good. If you notice heavy feelings that you feel are difficult to handle, breathe deeply and imagine your breath cleansing the feeling where you locate it in your body. You can also breathe life into the feeling as if it were a balloon. Many times it is the resisting of a feeling that causes it to be uncomfortable.
